Education
He holds a bachelor's degree in geology from National Taiwan University and a doctorate in earth science from Cornell University.
experience
He was an applied geologist at the Central Geological Survey, Ministry of Economic Affairs. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Cornell University in the United States and Max-Planck Institut fur Chemie in West Germany for one year each. He worked as a researcher at the Institute of Earth Sciences, Academia Sinica, mainly studying the high-temperature and high-pressure properties of minerals. During this period, he was seconded to Zhiyuan College of Management (now Capital University) as the director of the Department of Applied English. After 1993, he joined Zhongzhou University of Science and Technology as a faculty member, and served as the director of the General Education Center, the Department of Applied English, the Department of Fashion Creative Design and Management, and the International Exchange Center. In 2016, he joined the Beijing High Pressure Science Research Center (HPSTAR).
Currently, he is committed to promoting high-pressure research and gemstone science research in Taiwan. He is the founding chairman of the Taiwan Gemstone Research Society (TGRS) (2019) and the founding president of the Taiwan High Pressure Research Association (HPSciRea) (2017). He has obtained the qualification of applied geological technician of the National Higher Education Examination in Taiwan (1978) and the jade appraiser certificate of the Jewelry Institute of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) (GIC) (2018).
He is currently a professor and vice dean of teaching at the Guanghua College of Gem and Mineral Resources of Jiangxi University of Applied Science and Technology.

Research Results
He has published more than 100 papers in domestic and foreign journals and conference reports, translated the book "Mineralogy" co-authored by Klein & Hulburt, Jr., and has written three other books. He has completed more than 20 research projects funded by the National Science Council.

Thesis supervision: 2 doctoral dissertations completed at National Cheng Kung University; 14 master's dissertations completed at National Cheng Kung University, National Taiwan University, and National Central University; 4 bachelor's dissertations completed at National Taiwan Ocean University.
